DEVELOP YOUR ASHTANGA VINYASA YOGA PRACTICE IN THIS RETREAT, SURROUNDED BY NATURE AND RELAX FROM EVERYDAY LIFE.
Join us for a week of Ashtanga yoga practice. This is a dynamic week where we are will delve deep into yoga posture practice. Each morning Margarida will help you personally to develop a way to look after your body and mind based on the Ashtanga series as it’s taught in Mysore India. If you are new to yoga she will lead you in the Sun Salutations and a few of the fundamental postures that we will all practice together. A gradual progression through the Ashtanga series ensures that each morning has new delights. Mysore style allows more advanced practitioners and complete beginners to share the space of yoga. It is a very inspirational method that allows each of us to move at our own pace, communicate with the teacher about what we are feeling and be encouraged by those who have been practicing more frequently. You are most welcomed if you don’t have a regular Ashtanga Vinyasa practice, this is just the kind of week to develop one, everyone from the tentative beginner to the already convinced practicing is welcome. Margarida teaches traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. During this week she will be in the shala every morning assisting and helping you establish a safe practice if you don’t yet have one, or guiding and adjusting postures if you already know the Ashtanga Primary series. You’ll have 5 days of morning practice where you are guided by Margarida through postures at your own pace, assisted self-practice. Afternoon classes will be challenging, where the support of the teacher holding the space encourages you to test your capacity and explore what you have learned to form the earlier morning sessions. The philosophy of yoga is as important as the posture practice. It is valuable to be able to explore and question what we are doing. Our 4-afternoon classes will be spent discussing some aspects of the theory and peeling apart postures one by one to clarify how we align the body for a more enjoyable practice. As the schedule is dedicated to yoga there will also be time for playing together through Acroyoga, flowing together in Vinyasa and resting together with Yin.

Activities included: 5 morning yoga classes; 4 afternoon yoga classes; one hour body harmonising massage – thai, tui na, indonesian, ayurvedic and/or acupuncture; half hour private health consultation; a midweek trip to the Zêzere river for a mud bath and swim (weather permitting).
Optional / extra: possibility of extra accommodation and tours before and after the retreat; additional treatments.
