The Gliding Barnacles festival takes place from 6 to 10 September at Praia do Cabedelo in Figueira da Foz. This annual event aims to promote surfing as an art form and as an integral part of the community, being a meeting point for surfers, artists and creatives from all over the world. Gliding Barnacles is about inspiring each other through storytelling, self-expression and pure fire. We’re here to break the mould and ride the waves without the restrictions of ratings and rewards. We believe that surfing is all about artistic expression, just like art or music. The guest surfers will have an hour to let their style shine, ride those waves with style and show how they connect with both the ocean and their longboards. It’s about pushing the limits, experiencing the wind and, above all, enjoying the ride.
