DISCOVER THE HISTORICAL, ARCHITECTURAL AND NATURAL HERITAGE OF THE LISBON DISTRICT, ON FOOT OR BY BICYCLE.
Lisbon is the district of the country with the greatest cultural and historical offer, and walk the streets of the capital, from the Castle to the Jerónimos Monastery and Torre de Belém (both UNESCO World Heritage) would be a good option to explore the Portuguese soul and burn many calories. To escape the bustle of the city of crows, on foot or in mountain biking, we transport to the green sceneries of the Sierras of Monsanto or of Montejunto, or to the enchanted world of the Natural Park of Sintra-Cascais, which covers the Cultural Landscape of Sintra (UNESCO Cultural and Natural Heritage). As options, in the Atlantic cut, the waves of the World Surf Reserve of Ericeira transformed the “voltinha redneck”, but the visit to the Convent and the Natural Reserve of the cover of Mafra remain mandatory, while the dinosaurs of Lourinhã make us discover the Jurassic heritage. We crossed the beautiful farms of the fertile West region and reached the Tagus in the lands of Colete Encarnado, where the Tauromáquica culture joins the Natural Reserve of the Tagus Estuary, with routes of Bird Watches and boat trips up the river. Throughout the district the environment is conducive to the most varied options of outdoor activities and sports, which force us to “burn calories” but it is at the westernmost point of Europe 8211; Cabo da Roca – that we find ourselves walking down a stretch of the Atlantic Way, the GR11-E9, one of the European trails of Great Route, which surrounds Europe from the Cape of São Vicente, in Portugal, to Saint Petersburg, Russia, along the entire western coast.
