Lisbon Poetry Festival

Lisbon Poetry Festival

The Lisbon Poetry Festival was born in 2016 with the aim of encouraging reading, promoting the democratisation of the word and highlighting Portuguese-language poetry.

The opening will take place at the UCCLA headquarters on 13 September at 7pm, with a tribute to the poet Adélia Prado, followed by the show Afetos navegantes: olhar o porto do mar with the Brazilian actress Marina Campanatti.

On 14 September, the Festival will pass through Marvila, in the historic heritage site that is both the nineteenth-century palace and the cultural centre and popular living art museum of the Braço de Prata Factory. On the 15th, there will be a workshop in Graça, in the space that is part of the Colectivo Coral and which is an alternative and safe environment for diversity experiences, the Valsa. Then, in the late afternoon, the Festival will go to Príncipe Real, to Livraria da Travessa, that piece of Brazil in Lisbon, which will have a table for sale with the titles of some of the guests. To round off the evening, the Príncipe Real Garden will be occupied with a Poetry Slam, the first edition promoted by the Festival in this language of poetry.

Finally, 16 and 17 September will be spent at the Alcântara Library with a diverse programme including performances, debates, workshops and other surprises.
