The Castelo do Bode reservoir will once again be the stage for the world’s biggest wakeboarding event from 31 August to 3 September. The fight for the WWA – Wakeboard World Championships title will take place at Praia do Lago Azul in Ferreira do Zêzere, where over the course of four days the biggest names in the sport and more than a hundred amateurs will compete for the titles of world champions in the various categories. The competition, which has already held more than 30 editions around the world, is returning to Portugal eight years after its debut in 2015, precisely in the crystal-clear waters of what is considered one of the world’s greatest water sports treasures. The Nautique WWA Wakeboard World Championships will once again be supported by the Ferreira de Zêzere Municipality and Turismo do Centro, as part of the strategy to affirm the Médio Tejo as a distinctive tourist destination worldwide. Over the course of four days, thousands of fans and onlookers, both national and international, are expected to visit the Castelo do Bode Reservoir, not only in search of progressive and impressive Wakeboard manoeuvres, but also attracted by the unique conditions offered by the region, ranging from the many natural resources to the leisure and cultural options available along the more than 60 km adjacent to the reservoir. The event is free for all those who wish to attend.
