Walking Serra Devassa | Azores

This walk is essential to get to know the watershed of the Sete Cidades volcanic complex. Along the trail, are present numerous lagoons, with different characteristics and it is here that we find the highest point of the Seven Cities, Pico das Éguas. The briefing begins at Lagoa do Canaria and then we start the trail and we will enjoy Lagoa das Éguas, Pico das Éguas, Lagoa Rasa. Our guide will tell you about the importance of watercourses for the municipality of Ponta Delgada and about the endemic vegetation that exists in this place. Passing Lagoa do Canaria and Miradouro Grota do Inferno, you will discover interesting information about the Caldeira das Sete Cidades and its lagoons. Have you ever heard of the legend of the Sete Cidades Lagoon? On this walk, we will also have the opportunity to stop at the viewpoint of Vista do Rei, probably the most famous of this county. Possibility to extend the route to make the most complete trail of about 11km in the volcanic complex of the Sete Cidades (7 hours – 50 euros)
