Worship and Devotion to the God Endovelicus and Invocation to Viriato
To return to a distant past, where one of the best-known gods of Lusitania was venerated, is the challenge we propose.
On 9 September, Wicca Celtibera Portugal, with the support of Alandroal Town Council, will hold a celebration of the Cult and Devotion to the God Endovelicus, and Viriato, the Lusitanian Hero, will also be invoked.
This celebration, held at the Outeiro de São Miguel da Mota, where the ancient Roman sanctuary dedicated to this god was located, is intended to honour this pagan deity.
Of a healing and protective nature, Endovelicus was venerated here, it seems, between the 1st and 4th centuries of our era.
