Fojo and History of Risco

The protected areas that represent a vast area of the district make Setúbal a privileged territory for the practice of outdoor activities, which are associated with the observation of dolphins in freedom in the Sado estuary and the nautical sports on the extensive coastline. This walking tour takes us to the “Fojo”, located between the Arrábida and Risco ridges. We will go through magnificent landscapes of cliffs and valleys where native flora is still present. This tour also includes a visit to old manual marble quarries (Arrábida marble) and abandoned farm houses, located in the beautiful lands of Risco at the base of the mountain. A different route that boasts the unique beauty of these two ridges.
