The Tall Ships Races Lisboa

The race will start in Falmouth (15-18 August) and head to La Coruña (24-27 August), followed by the leg to Lisbon (31 August-3 September) and the final leg to Cádiz (7-10 September). The Tall Ships Races Magellan Elcano Series will celebrate the first circumnavigation of the world by Fernando Magalhães and Sebastián Elcano over 500 years ago. The historic expedition is one of the most important voyages undertaken in the history of maritime navigation and epitomises the unique and impactful experience of the Tall Ships Races. The Race Committee has analysed options that offer a short and a longer leg and a panoramic cruise in company along an enchanting coastline. This will offer crew members the chance to take part in a variety of sail training experiences. The variety of entertainment, sporting and cultural activities during Europe’s largest free family festival is sure to make the event a truly unforgettable experience. The Tall Ships Races are the perfect opportunity to sail on Tall Ships and embark on the adventure of a lifetime, meet people of different nationalities, religions and cultures and visit various ports in Europe, promoting friendship and international understanding.
