From 31 August to 3 September, the pirate festival takes place at the Buarcos Fortress and along Rua 5 de Outubro. There will be four days of pure fun, with lots of music, demonstrations of exotic birds, theatrical performances, a reptile show, dances and dances, juggling, jumping and acrobatics, falconry, patrols of the royal garrison, jousting, stories of cunning pirates and much more.
