Day 1

Morning:
9 a.m. Departure from Porto
10 a.m. Arrival at Amarante and visit of its historical center:
Opportunity to visit interesting points like S. Gonçalo church; Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso museum, Convent and chapel of St. Clara; the charming S.Domingos church or the Museum of Sacred Art, right next door. Along the walk, a break to taste the delicious regional pastry in one of the local pastries.

Lunch and afternoon options:
Option A, available only from Wednesday to Sunday:
12 a.m. Departure to Torno, in Lousada
Lunch in local typical restaurant
2 p.m. Visit to the Romanesque Tower of Vilar, in Lousada Tower of Vilar, was built between the second half of the 13th century and the beginning of the 14th century. Shows the feudal power over the territory, bearing witness to the existence of the Domus fortis, a fortified manor house in the Tâmega and Sousa.
3 p.m. Visit to the Monastery of the Saviour of Travanca, in Amarante First founded in the second half of the 11th century, its Church was built in the 13th century, standing out from other Portuguese Romanesque monuments thanks to its eccentric dimensions and the importance of its sculptural ornamentation in the capitals. Also noteworthy is the extraordinary tower right next to the Church, a safety fortress, built in the absence of a defensive castle. 16h30 Optional: Visit to Quinta da Tapada, in Lousada.
Housing an XVIII century manor house, Quinta da Tapada keeps traces of even earlier times, like the beautiful Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Piedade, part of the estate. While the Manor House itself is surrounded by beautiful gardens, in the remaining estate regional products are cultivated and manufactured, amongst them excellent cheese and green wine. Opportunity to visit the estate and taste the cheese and green wine of Quinta da Tapada brand.

12 a.m. Departure to Htl Monverde, in Telões
Monverde is an awarded green wine Hotel, located in Quinta da Lixa estate. Quinta da Lixa has long been a knowned green wine producing estate, and the Hotel facilities spread precisely amongst the vineyards. We invite you to an exquisite lunch service at Monverde’s restaurant, under the direction of Chef carlos Silva, followed by an afternoon of different wine related activities you can choose from. The choice is yours!

2 p.m. Optional: Wine activities in Htl Monverde
Wine tasting | Winemaker for a day | A day among the vineyards (includes pic-nic lunch and wine tastings)
4 p.m. Visit to the romanesque Church of Stº André de Telões, in Telões*
*Note: this visit is not possible on Mondays and Tuesdays! Located on a hill overlooking the valley, the origins of the Church of Telões go, according to the legends, as far back as the grandson of a Moorish king, in the skirmishes of the Reconquest. Throughout its existence has been subject to profound transformations, its chevet holds the main traces of Romanesque times.
