Route of the 6 Lagoons (9 km), in full central plateau of Serra da Estrela. An inhospitable setting, marked by an altitude landscape and vegetation, where the alpine juniper, the granites shaped by the erosive action of snow, water and ice, and the lagoons of glacial origin stand out. Typical Lunch and visit to the Historic Center of Covilhã and Woolen Museum. Transfer back to hotel. Rest of day free.

Day 4

We follow the riverside trail that follows the winding Zêzere River along 12 km of the GR “Great Zêzere Route” passing by Schist villages and corners with river beaches, in an environment marked by dense pine and rurality. Rest of day free.

Day 5

From Idanha-a-Nova we travel 12 km on the “Transeuropean Pedestrian Trail” that connects Lisbon to the Romanian city of Constanza on the shores of the Black Sea. We will passe millennial sanctuaries, through the Roman city of Egitânia and ascend to the historic village of Monsanto, where we will have lunch. We then head to the quartzite cliffs of the Appalachian peninsula of Penha Garcia, on the way to the Monfortinho SPA, where we can relax. Transfer back to the hotel. Rest of day free.

Day 6

We visit the historic centre of Belmonte (Jewish Museum, Castle and Church of Santiago) and enter the “Great Historical Villages Route”, along 18 km of trails and rural paths. We climb through canadas, Roman and medieval sidewalks to the west gate of the Castle of the historical village of Sortelha, next to the old hospital. Typical Lunch in Sortelha and visit to a sheep farm with local experiences close the day. Transfer back to the hotel. Rest of day free.

Day 7

From the Templar village of Castelo Novo, we ascend the Serra da Gardunha through shepherds’ paths and mysteries … We then descend to Alpedrinha, through an important Roman road, and we stop to appreciate the historical patrimony of this ancient village, before the usual typical lunch to retemper the 12 km travelled.
If we find ourselves in the middle of the cherry season, the typical and representative fruit of the region we will have to participate in the respective harvesting in a traditional farm and taste the various products made of cherries. Transfer back to the hotel. Rest of day free.

Day 8

Return day. We get a little idea of the richness of the natural and cultural diversity of the interior of Portugal. Here we will wait again to guide you to new and interesting discoveries!
