Visit the Tagus Valley Rock Art Interpretation Centre.
The center of Portugal municipalities aim is to value the places that act as a key-evidences of the Earth History, boosting the sustainable and responsible tourism and promoting the local communities.
The program includes a visit to the Tagus Valley Rock Art Interpretation Centre, the Garden of the Fossils and the Biodiversity Interpretation Centre. You can also enjoy one hiking trail, a boat trip on the Tagus river, a gold panning workshop and a paleontological and geological experience.
Day 1
Arrival at the accommodation.
Day 2
Breakfast at the accommodation.
Morning: Ichnological Park of Penha Garcia; paleontological experience in the “Fossil Trail” through the Ponsul River Gorge searching for life in the ancient ocean.
Lunch in a restaurant with regional gastronomy.
Afternoon: Visit the Biodiversity Interpretation Centre “Lands of Idanha” and birdwatching in the cliffs of Segura. Gold panning workshop in Salvaterra do Extremo.
Evening: rest at the accommodation.
Day 3
Breakfast at the accommodation.
Morning: Visit the Tagus River Valley Art Rock Interpretation Centre and to the Fossil Trees of Vila Velha de Ródão. Geological experience in a boat trip through the magnificent Portas de Ródão Natural Monument.
