The Camino de Torres is one of the four main Caminos de Santiago in Portugal. It takes its name from the Spanish writer Diego de Torres Villarroel, who made a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in 1737 along this same Path.
Embark on this AUTHOR’s TOUR with Paulo Almeida Fernandes, a historian specializing in the Caminos de Santiago, the cult of the apostle Santiago and Portuguese heritage.
This exclusive 10-day program includes selective hikes and visitations along some of the most beautiful stretches of this Camino from Salamanca, Spain to Valença do Minho, Portugal, carefully designed by the historian, and there will be time to explore much more of this immense territory, which has so much to nourish our senses.
The Camino begins here and now!
It is an unforgettable itinerary for many reasons.
It is an authentic route in that it brings you into contact with old monasteries and hostels.
It is a path that meets the rhythm of nature, as each step calls for a stop and the amazement of walking through breathtaking landscapes, in silence or with your heart racing.
It is a path full of heritage, which passes through four sites classified as World Heritage, six cathedrals, and numerous historical manifestations of the worship of the apostle Santiago.
It is a path of personal overcoming, as it tests the pilgrims' endurance on some mythical climbs.
It is a literary route, as the pilgrims come across the memory of many writers, some of whom have written about Santiago.
And finally, it is a magical Way, which leads us to get to know the veins of the Interior-North of Portugal, through a unique and memorable experience.
Come and experience 1 or more of these 10 days of the Way of Saint James - Camino de Torres (also WEEKEND programs).
