Descent on foot of the Ribeira da Pena (Góis), with the use of jumps to the water, toboggans, destrepes, rappelling descents and river crossings.
This stream runs through a steep and steep valley, whose bed, banks and slopes are formed by impressive cliffs that make this place almost inaccessible. For this reason, this valley still serves as a refuge for unique and rare plants and animals. This is the most spectacular riverside of the Central Region, where combine the inhospitable and wild scenery (formed by numerous waterfalls, lagoons and imposing rocks) with the lush vegetation and the peculiar wildlife, worth the effort spent in carrying out this activity.
In the canyoning the following material is provided by the organization: neoprene suit, neoprene sock, personal protective equipment (helmet, harness, lowering), own backpacks, watertight bags and bidons.
This canyoning has an initial rappelling of 35 meters to enter the river (optional - the organization decides to do it according to the group and the climatic conditions). It has about a dozen optional jumps from various heights. The whole progression is made by the course of the stream (outside or inside water), where the use of destrepes and stone jumps is used. In the end it is necessary to make a walk of about 30 minutes to reach the village of Ribeira Summit.
Recommended seasons: spring, summer and autumn (April to October).
