ULTRA MARATHON MELIDES-TRÓIA Start: 09:00 am from Melides Beach on the 16th July. It will run on a course with 43 km long, all of them in sand, starting in Melides Beach (N38 07.756 W8 47.610) and finishing in Bico das Lulas Beach, in Troia (N38 29.141 W8 54.409). ATLANTIC FLOODGATE-TRÓIA RACE Start: 09h30 from Comporta Beach on the 16th July. It will run on a course with a length of 15 km, all of it on sand, starting at Comporta Beach (N38 22’55.43 W8 48’06.69) and finishing at Bico das Lulas Beach, in Tróia (N38 29.141 W8 54.409). The Event The biggest sport event organized by the municipality of Grândola will take place, this year, on July 16th 2023. The beaches of the Atlantic front receive another edition of the Atlantic Ultra Marathon, with a length of 43 km, which connects the Melides beach to the Bico das Lulas beach in Tróia. The Ultra Marathon is an event of adventure and physical and psychological resistance that offers a unique experience to the athletes who participate every year, or to those who are new to the race. This competition differs from other existing long distance races in that it takes place on sandy ground and the Atlantic front is framed by the Arrábida Mountains, providing a scenery of great beauty for the hundreds of athletes who take part. The Atlantic Race, which has been running since 2014, allows you to have the practice of running on sand, however over a shorter distance of 15 km, between Comporta beach and Bico das Lulas beach in Tróia.
