Lugo Film Week 2023 programme

Monday 18th:

20.00 h.- Hall of the Provincial Parliament. Auxiliary Honour Presentation. Nuria Neira Vila, Auxilia Delegate in Lugo, will be present.

22,00 h. Auditorium. Opening ceremony. Film music by Sons y Soños-Banda de la Semana de Cine, directed by Armando Morales: “Conquest of Paradise”, “Chariots of Fire”, “The Last Mohican”, Forrest Gump and “Colonel Bogey (The Bridge on the River Kwai)”. Area premieres by Marcos Escudero. Short film screenings by Clara Coira. First screening of the Official Section.

Tuesday 19th:

18.00 h.- In the building of the Regional Delegation of the Xunta in Lugo, inauguration of the exhibition in honour of Irmáns Coira. Presentation of the tribute book and greeting by Pepe Coira to those attending the screening of “Eloxio da Distancia”, the first of the films in the “Irmáns Coira Retrospective”.

20,00 h. Deputación Provincial. Tribute to Anxo Arias Prado (Foto Oliver), from Viveiro. Screening of the film “Cardoña. Photos for 7 pesetas”.

Wednesday 20th:

20,00 h. Provincial parliament. Proxección in honour of “E para comer, Lugo”. Cheché Real, president of the Provincial Association of Hotel and Restaurant Entrepreneurs, and Alfredo Sánchez Carro, promoter of this slogan, will take part.

Thursday 21st:

20,00 h. – Hall of the Provincial Parliament. Screening of “El amigo americano”, voted by the public as “Best film” of the first Semana de Cine.

Friday 22nd:

Opening of the exhibition in honour of the Irmáns Coira at the Lugo Provincial Library – It will be open until 4 October.

19,00 h. Column Room of the Círculo de las Artes. Gogue will be showing reproductions of his caricatures for the benefit of Aspnais. The President of this organisation, José Reigosa, will be present.

20.00 – Delegation room. Greeting by Pepe Coira to those attending the screening of the special chapter of “The Laws of Celavella”.

Saturday 23rd

1pm – Film tour. Unveiling of the two new plaques on the promenade, dedicated to the Coira brothers (Pepe and Xurxo Coira will be present), and to Eduardo Fajardo.
