Portugal is one of the oldest Nations of the World, thus its main localities exhibit a vast historical heritage, which testifies and registers the culture of the many peoples who passed through its territory and the epics in which they got involved. But beyond History and Monuments, it is today a country equally proud of its cultural traditions, its gastronomy, its wines, its Atlantic coast with beautiful beaches, the very safety of its citizens and the hospitality and amiability of them, everything which, after all, attracts and captures the attention of foreigners who visit Portugal and never forget. This is a tour that, in addition to the Algarve that already needs no further presentations, allows you to see and experience a bit of all the other wonderful places you will find in this country so that those who do not know Portugal will never forget it! Visiting Lisbon (2nts), Sintra, Cascais, Estoril, Óbidos, Nazaré, Batalha, Fátima (1 nt), Tomar, Santarém, Évora (1 nt), Reguengos de Monsaraz, Herdade do Esporão, Algarve, Lagos (2 nts), Ponta da Piedade, Sagres, Serra da Arrábida and returning to Lisbon (1 nt). Day 1 – Welcome to Lisboa Our representative will be at the airport to take you to your hotel. Free day to explore Lisboa. Ask for our optional tours. Day 2 – Lisboa / Sintra / Cascais / Estoril / Lisboa Sightseeing tour of Lisbon. Visiting 16th-century Monastery of Jerónimos (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Belém pastry “pastel” factory dated from 1837 and stop at Belém Tower. We will then proceed to Sintra town, UNESCO World Heritage Site, located 20 Km from Lisbon. Free time to walk around and get to know this charming town. We will continue to Cascais and on our return to Lisbon, we will pass by Estoril. Arrival at the hotel and free evening. Day 3 – Lisboa / Óbidos / Nazaré / Batalha / Fátima Head towards the north of Portugal! First stop in Óbidos, a small medieval town, placed within castle walls. Continuing to Nazaré, famous for its giant waves, we’ll then proceed to the Monastery of Batalha, one of the most beautiful works of Portuguese and European Gothic architecture and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next stop at Fátima Sanctuary, and visit to the village of Aljustrel, where the three little shepherds were born. Arrival at the hotel and free evening. Day 4 – Fátima / Tomar / Évora Head towards Tomar, visit the Templar castle and Convento de Cristo, founded in 1162. Then we’ll turn south to the Alentejo countryside, already considered the Best Wine Region to Visit in the World (2014) until we reach Évora, UNESCO World Heritage. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon we’ll visit the Roman Temple in honour of Diana and get free time to visit its historical buildings and stroll the streets of the centre of Évora. Arrival at the hotel and free evening. Day 5 – Évora / Monsaraz / Herdade do Esporão / Algarve / Lagos Algarve is our destination today, but first, we’ll drive to the medieval village of Regengos de Monsaraz. Walk around and appreciate the hilltop view of the countryside and of the Alqueva Dam – Europe’s largest man-made lake. Visit and wine tasting at the Herdade do Esporão. Arriving at Algarve, all the landscape and architecture changes, reflecting its Moorish heritage. Here we’ll stay in Lagos, with a long history connected to the sea and to the Portuguese Discoveries. Arrival at the hotel and free time. Day 6 – Lagos / Sagres / Ponta da Piedade / Lagos Prepare to visit the most beautiful beaches of the Algarve, the charming fisherman’s village of Sagres, and Porto da Baleeira, which is still dedicated to the construction of boats and lobster fishing. On the way to Cabo de São Vicente, we will visit the Beliche Fortress, built in the 16th century, on a huge promontory. At Ponta da Piedade, we find rock formations with cut out shapes and excavated caves. Returning to Lagos we’ll have free time to stroll and shop in the centre of the village or walk along the marginal avenue until you reach the beach or the Marina. Day 7 – Lagos / Serra da Arrábida / Azeitão / Lisboa Return to Lisbon, passing by Arrábida Natural Park, where we find one of the most breathtaking landscapes of the Portuguese coast and the magnificent view of the Troia Peninsula. Arriving at the small village of Azeitão, do not forget to taste the delicious Azeitão tarts, or the Moscatel pie (not included). We will then continue to Lisbon. Accommodation and free evening. Day 8 – Lisbon Check-out of the Hotel. At the time to be informed, transfer to the airport. End of our services. OBSERVATION 7 nights in a double room with breakfast.
