WALK IN THE MIDDLE OF PARQUE DAS SERRAS, OPORTO, OVERLOOKING THE DOURO RIVER. VISIT AN OLD VILLAGE AND CROSS SUSPENSION BRIDGES.
The district of Porto, between the river Ave to the North and the river Douro to the South, reveals its historical and cultural importance as the Historic Center of the Douro, the Luis I Bridge and the Monastery of Serra do Pilar to include the list of World Heritage of UNESCO. Port wine appreciated worldwide, together with the Rabelo Boats and the Caves installed on the riverside in Vila Nova de Gaia and Douro above, are witnesses of the great wealth that the Douro valley and its vineyards represent. Climbing the Douro by boat is almost mandatory, exploring the monumental valley and its Quintas and Wineries, discovering the handicrafts of Ansiães, or diverting to Tâmega to Marco de Canavezes (Tongóbriga). Here we travel back in time to the Roman period, to meet the remains of the Archaeological Station of Freixo and the thermal water of Caldas de Canavezes. In a walk at the gates of Porto, in the heart of the Parque das Serras that surround the city, you will feel surrounded by nature in its purest state. Leave the noise and stress of the city behind and enter a natural park where you can walk in the mountains, beside the river, cross suspension bridges and visit an old village.
