Stones with History in Évora Region

In the territory covered by the Évora district, all peoples, at all times, wanted to leave their mark. The patrimonial and historical wealth is such that any activity that we propose will have to have this main motivation, without forgetting the immaterial traditions, some of them World Heritage, such as the Chocalhos de Alcáçovas and the Figurado de Estremoz or river activities on streams and dams, which have the greatest exponent in the Alqueva dam. In the difficult choice of destination, we find ourselves in the district capital itself (UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986) from where we leave, by bicycle, towards the green areas of Valverde and Guadalupe, which concentrate some of the most emblematic exponents of the megalithism of Évora region: the Almendres cromlech and menhir, the Zambujeiro dolmen, the ruins of the Giraldo castle and the ruins of the Roman spa of Tourega. Somewhere in the shade of a holm oak, we celebrate history with a happy hour from Alentejo.
