Horseback Riding on the Beach. Horseback riding frees us from the tensions that we are accumulating in our daily lives, providing us with immense well-being. It is the contact with the great spaces, the purity of the air, the immense sky, the forest, the birds, the sea… finally, the call of nature. Melides is part of the largest beach in Portugal – and the third-largest in the world! There are 60 uninterrupted kilometres bathed by the sometimes green, sometimes blue waters of the Atlantic since Troy. All this immensity allows us to have the feeling of being in completely deserted parts even in the middle of summer. The walks run through dunes where it is possible to identify beautiful botanical species, pass through rice paddies and the Melides lagoon, the perfect setting for birdwatching, and head towards the sea, discovering dreamscapes. If the chosen route is the dunes, on the coast of Melides, we should walk slowly so that we can enjoy the beautiful botanical species that cover the sands.
