The best way to get to know the island is certainly to walk on it. Faial has a varied choice of trails such as: Levadas, where we let ourselves be carried away by the sound of water zigzagging through a fascinating forest of Cryptomeria, or a panoramic trail with a 360º view of the island, or a trail that includes a dip in a wild beach, or a trail in an ash volcano… These are just a few options, the right choice will depend on the points of interest and the physical form of each one.
