Coimbra always has charm, and not only “at the time of farewell”, unlike a famous Coimbrão Fado. Enchantment that can be seen, felt and heard, from Alta and Sofia University of Coimbra (UNESCO World Heritage Site), where the traditions and sounds of the Portuguese guitar are kept alive, strolling through the narrow streets or on the edge of the Mondego, to the inviting white beaches of the Atlantic coast or the castles of the Mondego line of defense. Further inland we reach the Cordillera Central, with the Açor and Lousã Mountains highlighted. We appreciate the friendliness of the people and the stunning protected landscapes, where it reveals a mosaic of picturesque stone villages, in frank recovery and conservation, for the enjoyment of those who appreciate the rural and creative experiences.Still in this beautiful interior, the river beaches delight the family, as well as the most active experiences conducive to “calorie burning”, and in a fantastic setting, as in Foz de Égua, in the far east of the district. We stayed in the region of Lousã, and walked between two emblematic villages of the network of Schist Villages, Gondramaz and Talasnal. Then we visit the magical site of Cerdeira – “where inspiration lives” – in a setting of absolute tranquility, where art and creativity serve as motivation for the recovery and dynamization of the Village.
