PEDESTRIAN ROUTE THROUGH THE PICO VINEYARDS, A UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE, WITH WINE AND LIQUOR TASTING.
This is a journey through the landscape of Pico Island’s vine culture, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004. We believe that before tasting a glass of wine produced in Pico it is essential to walk along the rocks among the vines, discover the history and stories behind the production of wine, and only then be able to taste the richness of this nectar! Points to visit: Vinhas da Criação Velha, Queijaria “Alfredo”, Núcleo de adegas dos Fogos, Wine Museum, Lajido, Cabrito, Wine producer’s cellar Not to be missed: Wine history and vineyards in the Azores, UNESCO heritage site, lava fields, wine production process, local cheese tasting, tasting of 3 different types of wine, visit to a typical wine cellar. OBSERVATIONS: 85€ pax 50 pax (6 to 12 years old) Includes Pico Natural Park certified guide, personal accident and liability insurance, three wine tastings, visit to the Oenology Laboratory or the Wine Museum, lunch at a local restaurant.
